WSJ CIO Network conference: Meg Whitman: smartphones are the next evolution of computers, we got to get in there.
HP the world’s largest personal computer maker now is considering ways to get back into the smartphone game, HP Chief Executive Meg Whitman said Tuesday at a conference in San Diego.

She told technology executives at The Wall Street Journal CIO Network conference that smartphones are the next evolution of computers.“In many countries for many people, (smartphones) may be their only computing device, so over time we got to get in there,” she said. “But we have to figure out how not to lose a boatload of money while we do it.”We know at this time HP will not unveil any smartphone this year, so the question is Will HP be ready with a webOS Open smartphone for CES 2014?

Antutu Benchmarks, suggest the Galaxy S IV may have an Exynos 5 Octa processor clocked at 1.8GHz and Android 4.2.1 under the hood.
The Exynos 5 Octa is a monster of a CPU with 8-cores, four ARM Cortex A15 cores (1.8GHz) and four Cortex A7 cores (1.2GHz). Though it has 8 cores, only four can be active at any given time. Also on board with the Exynos 5 Octa is the PowerVR SGX-544MP3 GPU at 533MHz.
The Galaxy S IV is rumored to ship with a 5-inch SuperAMOLED Full HD display, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera capable of shooting 1080p Full HD Videos at 30FPS , 2-megapixel front camera capable of shooting 720p HD Videos, and Android 4.2.1.
The Samsung Galaxy S IV has been planned for the first half of 2013.

Samsung has announced that global channel sales of the company’s flagship smartphone, GALAXY S III and its two   predecessors GALAXY S and GALAXY S II have surpassed 100 million units sales as of January 13, 2013.
